Despite your engineering team shipping more code than ever, releases still move slowly.
AI coding tools promised that if you write faster, you ship faster. Instead, teams find themselves stuck in an almost identical release cadence to the one they had two years ago, sometimes slower, with pull requests piling up while nobody feels confident enough to hit deploy.

More than half of enterprises admit they knowingly ship critical defects to production because there isn't time to catch them first, and 80% have already traced a production incident straight back to AI-generated code. Engineers who should be building spend their days chasing down what broke and why.
"Speed is no longer the advantage. It is the baseline," Dr. Prince Kohli, CEO of Sauce Labs, wrote in a recent Entrepreneur op-ed on the same shift. Everyone can generate code quickly now. What separates teams is whether they can prove what they shipped actually works before a customer — or an attacker — finds out otherwise.
How to close the gap
