We are thrilled to announce the release of Forwarder v1.1.0. This open-source proxy plays a vital role as a core component in Sauce Labs Sauce Connect Proxy. Forwarder is a production-ready HTTP proxy with MITM and PAC capabilities, serving as a forward proxy for a wide range of traffic types.
Man-In-The-Middle (MITM) Support: Forwarder introduces MITM support, allowing for encrypted traffic inspection and modification.
Rate Limiting: Introducing rate limiting to control and manage traffic flow effectively.
Deny Domains: Specify which domains should not be proxied.
Direct Domains: Simplify selecting domains that should not be sent to an upstream proxy.
Upstream Proxy Headers Modification: Modify headers when forwarding requests to upstream proxies.
Proxy Errors in Response Body: Errors are now conveniently written in the response body, aiding troubleshooting.
Default Config Files Enhancements: Default config files now contain all field descriptions and can be generated from the command line.
This release improves the stability and performance of the proxy core. It also fixes end-of-file handling on Windows. (In some cases, Forwarder would produce lots of error logs.)
You can see the complete list on the GitHub release page.
