The Principal Architect is a senior technical leadership role on the Sauce Labs DevOps team. One takes advantage of marketing opportunities to lead the prospect through the initial buying cycle. The other is responsible for cross/upselling and renewing our existing customers. Both roles necessitate excellent selling skills, customer empathy and a mature process that delivers value to our prospects and customers.

This position is an inside role with minimal travel and is focused on smaller enterprises.  Appropriate candidates will have experience selling to organizations that have technical sophistication and who may or may not yet be a continuous delivery shop. The Account Executive is responsible for representing Sauce Labs and assisting the customer as they go through the process of evaluating the means of accomplishing their functional testing needs as it pertains to their CD strategy.

Primary Responsibilities:                                                
  • AE will report to the VP of Sales or a regional director over the course of the year
  • Depending on the role will either be responsible for the initial or the ongoing sale of Sauce Lab’s products
  • Be willing to leverage all means to communicate effectively and regularly with prospects and customers
  • Constantly initiate new contacts through networking opportunities in order to increase client base
  • Meet Annual Reoccurring Revenue (ARR) targets and achieve monthly quotas
  • Provide account leadership and direction in the pre- and post-sales process
  • Work with a team of sales specialists to drive high levels of adoption within trials and customer accounts                                    

Requirements:                                  

  • 3+ years experience in sales (preference for SaaS experience)

The Sr. Account Executive will manage the sales process within an assigned territory of business for prospective and existing accounts and regional consultant influencers. S/he will continually ensure assigned territory growth and profitability by developing solid business relationships with all clients for Sauce Labs.  S/he will develop and execute strategies and sales tactics in the following areas: territory planning, pre-request for proposal prospecting, relationship development, pricing, presentation and delivery (finalist or other), negotiations, closing and managing contracts.

This individual will identify leads that fit within ideal client profiles for the purpose of marketing the company’s products and services as well as qualify identified leads to determine best products and services that will meet potential client’s needs.  The Sr. Account Executive will initiate contact and follow-up on sales meetings and teleconferences, meet sales objectives and targets at profitable rates, move prospects into implementation, and meet established sales goals and quota schedule per plan year’s objectives.  S/he will work cross-functionally within Sauce to initiate customized proposals and communication for prospective clients and develop familiarity with potential clients to best meet their needs and to field inquiries.

The successful candidate will organize and conduct sales presentations, site visits and product demonstrations to prospective clients and will represent Sauce Labs in a consistent, effective and professional manner to best develop new clients. S/he will need to foster ongoing mutually beneficial relationships with consultants and maintain a solid knowledge of Sauce Labs’ technology. It is important that this individual exercise leadership, demonstrates results-oriented sales planning, and works in a positive and motivating way with internal counterparts and external clients.
