The Role:

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Revenue Accounting Manager to join our accounting team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting all aspects of revenue accounting and reporting in accordance with ASC 606, accounts receivable and commissions. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, RevOps, and Legal to ensure accurate treatment of SaaS contracts and contribute to the scalability of our quote-to-cash process.

Responsibilities:

  • Review customer contracts and related documents to determine proper revenue recognition treatment in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Maintain and update revenue schedules, deferred revenue balances, and journal entries related to revenue activity for month-end and quarter-end close process
  • Work with AR and billing specialists to review customer contracts and collections, which you will incorporate into weekly cashflow forecast meetings.
  • Reconcile revenue-related GL accounts and monitor data consistency between billing and accounting systems (e.g., YayPay, Salesforce, NetSuite).
  • Partner with Sales Ops and RevOps to ensure revenue is recorded accurately and timely for subscription contracts, renewals, usage-based billing, and discounts.
  • Support the month-end close process with journal entries, reconciliations, and revenue reporting with our Accounting team
  • Assist in preparing audit support schedules and respond to revenue-related audit requests.
  • Contribute to process improvements and automation within the quote-to-cash cycle.
  • Stay current on evolving SaaS industry practices and accounting guidance.
  • Support cross-functional projects, including pricing model changes, AR collections process, systems implementations, and business expansion initiatives.

Required Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CPA-track preferred.
  • 5-6 years of relevant experience, with at least 1 year focused on revenue accounting in a SaaS or tech environment.
  • Strong understanding of ASC 606 and its application in a recurring revenue business model.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, or similar billing/accounting platforms is required.
  • Experience with reseller revenue contract arrangements is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large transactional data sets.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Experience in public accounting or with external audits is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when required.

Your base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience, along with its relationship to the base salaries of current team members at Sauce Labs that are similarly situated.
