ISO 27701 certifies compliance with data protection requirements that satisfy the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), EU GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), and other data privacy legislation that are critical for worldwide privacy assurance. This further demonstrates Sauce Labs commitment to maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information via rigorous risk management procedures, systems, and controls, as well as data protection principles set forth by global privacy laws.
Data protection and privacy have never been more top of mind for digital firms. Not only is maintaining a secure environment paramount in today’s current environment, but it is also something we have specifically heard from consumers. When we commissioned our ‘Every Experience Matters’ report in the spring, we told you that a negative online encounter can make 63% of users feel like their data is not secure. When users feel that their data is in jeopardy, they lose trust in digital brands.
Today’s step by Sauce should be a reassurance to our customers and yours that Sauce Labs takes data protection seriously. We have implemented several defense-in-depth security measures that protect data from unauthorized access or compromise, including having met the required technical controls and formalized IT Security policies and procedures required of SOC 2 Type II (December 2021) and ISO 27001 (January 2022) standards. ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2 are rigorous, independent audits that software as a service customers demand and deserve. The ISO 27701 extends data protection to cover individual data privacy, maintaining strict process in the handling of personal data.
Sauce Labs will never be a hurdle in your own data protection and privacy policies but aims to be a supportive partner that can champion your company’s initiatives when servicing your customers. Today’s announcement is a reflection of that. To learn more about how we are taking action on data privacy and protection, read today’s press release here.
